Did anyone research their family?

There's a programme running here where a celebrity gets to research their family tree going back 6 generations. It's very interesting. I've taken to start researching my family, have any of you done it?

My dad has been doing his side of the tree for the last 22 years dating right back to when we came over from England in the early 1800's..
Mums family I dont know much about but it would be interesting

my grandad made a book about his side & it was interesting but i wouldnt go looking for myself!~!

We have just started doing this for our family too. It is hard work for us too. Mostly because we have a whole lot of divorce / step family step in the last couple of generations which makes it very interesting!

We are using familytreemaker and its been good.

I wouldn't know where to start!! My mum has been doing her side of the family for a very long time! She's always telling me bits of info about our ancestors. some stories can be quite amazing. cool

Our need to do this was spurred on by my Grandma now being in fulltime care from her elzheimers. I had wanted to sit with her while she was still lucid to learn more about her life etc but I missed the chance. I don't want to see it happen for our kids etc... I never thought I'd be into it before this but its actually pretty cool.

I watched this show the other night.. Julian Clary researched his family tree.. its was really interesteing!!!!
